Our Fees

At Crownstead, transparency is key. We operate on a no-upfront-cost basis — you’ll never pay anything before a claim or audit is submitted, and our success fee is only applied once a refund, reduction, or saving has been secured.

If you cancel after the 14-day cooling-off period but before we submit your case to HMRC or the Local Authority, a £95 + VAT administrative fee may apply, in line with our Terms & Conditions.

If your case has already been submitted, the full success fee becomes enforceable, as our service has already been carried out.

How We Work

Fee Example — Business Rates Audit

If your business rates reduction or refund is £5,000, our fee at 32.5% + VAT (39%) would be £1,625 + £325 VAT, leaving you with £3,375 in retained benefit.

Business Rates Saving/Refund: £5,000.00
Our Fee (32.5%): £1625.00
VAT (20%): £325.00
You Receive: £3375.00

Business rates outcomes may be a refund, reduction to future rates bills, or both. The success fee applies to the value of the reduction/refund achieved.

Fee Example — Tax Refund

If your refund is £1,000, our fee at 32.5% + VAT (39%) would be £390, leaving you with £610 returned to you.

Fee Breakdown

Tax Refund: £1,000.00
Our Fee (32.5%): £325.00
VAT (20%): £65.00
You Receive: £610.00

Pension tax refunds are always paid directly once approved — they are not offset, credited, or applied against future tax liabilities.
